Laboratory 001 | Jamie Grenenger

Brisbane via Sydney’s Jamie Grenenger has launched a series of DJ sets called Laboratory, with an album length event opening set for number one. Jamie has been a fixture in the Brisbane scene for a decade and will be playing a B2B at his new Dissent Klubnacht event this Saturday at Door 84, with local legend Fuzion.

This set was recorded at the opening DISSENT event held on a Thursday night at Door 84. It was only an hour set so there wasn't much room to stretch my legs, so it was more of a set showcasing some new music I've collected over the months. The DISSENT nights can be full throttle from the get go so you have to take that into consideration.

Playing an earlier set it's always about restraint and building your set one track at a time, reeling in the punters for the next DJ, creating a floor for peak time slots. These sets are where I feel most comfortable with because you can test out new music to see what honest reaction you will get. There is no better feeling than starting with an empty floor and leaving with a full dance floor. That's when you know you have done your job right.

We welcome you to Door 84 for our first weekend event, with a lineup of local talent that fully showcases our vision of what techno in this city can be.

Presenting a 2 hour set from Fuzion b2b w/ returning legend Jamie Grenenger. Anyone who has witnessed these legends before knows what they have in store. From playing alongside Berghain residents, to playing in legendary clubs such as Tresor Berlin, many believe Fuzion is our region’s best kept secret. Jamie Grenenger is his long time friend and techno collaborator, as well as one of our most respected selectors.

We are also very lucky to have Christian Kerr join us, alongside Odd One. Each of these artists is a headliner in their own right, and their contributions within their respective residencies over the years have been central to the success of some of Queensland’s most iconic techno events.

Rounding out the night will be Dissent’s own Findling and Zhangie. We are truly honoured not only for the opportunity to play alongside these titans, but to curate this amazing lineup of talent.

All of this will be powered by Door 84’s state of the art AT Pro Audio sound system.
