Fergus Alexander – In Darkness We Trust

Ever-present in our progressive house scene and with decades of experience to draw from, Brisbane’s Fergus Alexander is warming up for Franky Wah and Sasha this Sunday 16 March at The Triffid. This album-length set from October 2024 is a testament to his style of choice and features a modern take on an Aussie classic to begin with, as well as including some tracks from some of Down Under’s finest labels, and branching out to music from established international artists.

Obviously, I am beyond pumped to be the local support for this party. Franky Wah and his Shèn label have become global powerhouses in the modern progressive and melodic house scene, responsible for some epic music over the last few years, whether through Franky’s own releases, or the signing of big guns such as Quivver and Dave Seaman, to say the least. The Shèn presents parties, from all reports, are synonymous with top notch production and of course tunes, so it’s exciting for Brisbane to finally get its turn.

Sasha, well, he certainly needs no introduction. He’s a personal hero of mine and I’ve seen him every time he’s played in Australia since seeing him for the first time in 2002, so to be sharing the same bill with him is a dream come true.

I’m only playing for an hour but I’ll make sure to give it all I’ve got, respectfully of course because I am warming up, at the end of the day. See you all on the dance floor.
