Since moving to Australia in 2019, Maree J has refined a sound anchored in deep, progressive and melodic house. In different settings, her selections expand into downtempo rhythms or groove-led funky house and disco, always guided by underground sensibilities and a resistance to commercial shortcuts.

Her curiosity and range have seen her play across intimate dancefloors and large-scale festivals alike, sharing lineups at events such as Earth Frequency Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival, Rave of the Dead, Ctrl, Berry Juicy, 8 Mile Yacht Club, West End Fire Festival, Diffuszed Studios, Chicks & Decks, bush doof’s, and a variety of club and private bookings. Exploring darker and heavier frequencies, Maree J also operates under the alias ConVergence, where she leans into deep, filthy 140 dubstep and wobbly basslines — a bass-driven counterpoint to her house-focused work.
